Zoroastrianism in Tajikistan Part 2

Dear Friends

The Tajiki Zoroastrians have received great support from Zoroastrians from Iran, Europe and from Parsees who are not isolationists. May they continue to do so. Tajikistan is an important part of our overall strategy, not only because Tajikistan is a country with strong Zoroastrian roots and many navjotes being conducted at the moment, but also because the country has the most Zoroastrian-friendly government in the world.
If isolationists in India refuse to deal with the Tajiki Zoroastrians, it is their loss. Through isolationism, Parsees have now become a small minority among Zoroastrians globally and power within the community is increasingly moving to Tehran, to Europe and America, and to new Zoroastrian strongholds such as Dushanbe and Moscow!
ARZ is doing a wonderful job at waking up the Parsi community to this new reality!!!

Dear Humdins,

Dr. Meher Master Moos has been doing a great job in Tajikistan and deserves all praise and support for the noble work that she has been carrying on for the cause of Zoroastrianism.

ARZ supports her totally.

In recognition of her stupendous work, ARZ along with AIMZ had felicitated her in a public meeting held in Feb 2008 in Mumbai organized by them on "Acceptance in Zoroastrianism" when Vada Dasturji Dr. Kersey Antia's was the chief speaker.

The Tajiks and other Zoroastrians would surely be welcome in the Zoroastrian Agiary and the Zoroastrian Center that would be set up by ARZ in India.

Well over a decade ago, a Parsi lady Prof. Dame Dr. Meher MasterMoos who has also founded the Z University near Bombay, ((Ph D degrees in the Z Religion are granted there after intensive studies)) had made her travels in Tadjikistan and submitted reports to the Parsis of Bombay, which appeared in the Newspapers and Magazines, which said that the population of that country was very interested in the Z Religion, that Initiations should be performed for the interested parties.

But the Parsis with their attitude of the Purity of their GENES, did not accept her recommendations.
Some Tadjikis did travel to Bombay but were not welcomed into the Parsi Agyaris (Consecrated Fire Temples) and thus it all fell through.
The rulers of that country are also leaning towards the Z Religion though their names sound Islamic.
After the end of the Soviet Communist Era, Islam has its Madrassas in the region and wants to control all the Central Asian Countries!!

If Mobed Kamran and others have done the necessary Initiations, so that should continue.

Dr MasterMoos is a follower of the Ilm-e-Kshnoom Version of the Religion, which has taken roots in India in the Twentieth Century. It is an Esoteric version mostly influenced by the Sufis and their Tarikats.

Dear Fariborz

What is happening in Tajikistan is of the outmost importance!! !
I know that Kamran Jamshidi and many of the Europe-based Zoroastrians have been going to Tajikistan for several years to conduct navjotes and in general support the fast growing Z community there. There are many stories and pictures from these trips on the web.
The extreme friendliness towards Zoroastrianism is both part of a nationalistic project (to make Tajikis different from other neighboring Central Asian and Turkic peoples) but also a bulwark against Islamic militancy which almost threw Tajikistan into civil war a few years ago. Please also note that there are large Tajik populations in Uzbekistan and Afghanistan. For example, the majority of the population of Samarkand, Uzbekistan is Tajik!
So Zoroastrianism is now a strong movement against Islamism (rather than islam) in all these countries.
But there is also a general belief in and support of Zoroastrianism ideologically, which is absolutely genuine.
We need to support this movement as best we can. It will also have a strong influence on events in Iran in the nearby future.

Thanks to you all - Dino and Alexander and friends

Just before reading your mail and feeling your enthusiasm to understand and spread the teachings of Zarathustra, I happened to read a blog posted by ZNA (Zoroastrian News Agency) which I am sure they published without reading it.

But there are people out there small and big with financial support form governments and oil money who are actively going against the very few who are trying to revive Zarathustra teachings. Read the blog and decide for yourself.

One such person who is trying hard to revive the ancient teachings of Zarathustra is fortunately the President of Tajikistan but unfortunately with little or no support from Zarathushties. Tajikistan is the only government in the modern world that supports and is proud of its Zarathushti roots. Just last year they ordered the closure of over 300 mosques built without proper permits with Saudi and Iranian money.

These are the people of Balkh who 3700 year ago accepted Zarathustra and here they are once again trying to revive it. Lets see what we can do to help. Lets brain storm.

Every September they have their Republic day celebration and every two years they have a cultural conference as part of the celebrations. 2004 was about Zarathustra 2006 was about Aryan Civilization and 2008 was about the poet Rumi 2010 I do not know we need to find our. Esphandiar if he is still on the Ushta list can help us.

By the way here are the two blogs I mentioned above.

Fariborz, you're doing an absolutely wonderful job!!!
I agree with Dino, I'm very much looking forward to reading your English translation of The Gathas.
Your You Tube and other online video clips are also very useful for our cause.
Just let us know if and when there is anything we can do to support you further in your work!!!

Dear Fariborz,

That's great news!!!
I'm most excitingly looking forward to reading your English translation of the Gathas. It is most important to inform people about the ORIGINAL CORE of Zoroastrianism, namely Mazdayasna, since it's probably the only philosophy that can face today's challenges reasonably and constructively. The more I learn about our beautiful and encouraging faith from people you, Alexander Bard, Arthur Pearlstein, Bahman Varza, Parviz Varjavand and Ardeshir Fahramand, the more certain I am that Zarathushtra was 3700 years ahead of his time and one of the brightest minds to have walked the Earth.

Thanks,
Dino

Dear Dino, Alexander and friends,

Thank you for your kind words and invitation.

I am a long standing member of the Ushta list and have given my two cents many times in the past although far and apart. But due to time constrains I have been a silent reader for most of the time I have felt it is too late in the dicusions to jump in.
In future I will try to join in on your discusions. Thanks
